Kurumakatiti Reserve

This reserve is a 25,000 acre bowhunting only concession managed by Craig Coppen, PH. Craig is not only well known for guiding bow hunters to trophy plains game, but the big cats and buffalo as well.

Kurumakatiti is a 25,000 acre bow hunter’s paradise. It is remote and isolated in lush bushveld surrounded by rocky mountainous-like hills. The wildlife on this ranch is abundant and holds breeding herds of plains game. No rifle hunting is allowed.

“Kuru”, as we like to call it, is located about 3.5 hours from Johannesburg between Vallwater and Ellisras in the Limpopo Province. The ranch has comfortable living facilities in the form of thatch- roofed chalets. All chalets are equipped with toilet, shower and bathtub. There are two dinning areas-one enclosed and one open air. The open air dining area is located next to the Lapa-South African’s version of the barbeque.

Hunting is done from the numerous blinds located on the ranch. These blinds are made of cement block and reduce human scent very well. There are camera ports as well as shooting ports strategically placed in the blinds. Most all blinds are located over water holes.

The trophy quality of the animals on this concession is outstanding. Kudu are abundant and you will have opportunities at 55-60 inch bulls on a regular basis. Impala, Wildebeast, Eland, Red Hartebeast are of high trophy caliber as well as Waterbuck and Bushbuck.

Daily rates for hunters are as follows:
1 client (1PH) - $350/day
2 or 3 clients (1PH) - $300/day per person
4 hunters (2PH) -$250/day per person.
Daily rate includes airport pick up and return, full services of professional hunter and his staff along with proper hunting vehicle, all food, lodging, laundry and open bar. All taxes and licenses are included in daily rate.

All hunts are based on a 10 day-minimum. First day of the hunt is day 1 and the 10th day is the last and you are taken to the airport. First and last days are charged at one half the daily rate for each client. Thus a 10- day hunt is billed as 9 days. Actual number of days hunting is 8.5.

Not included in any hunt is commercial airfare, private air charter, hotels before and after hunt and any taxidermy fees.
